ANIMATED SHORT FILM

Concept | Modeling | Lighting

Modeling

Autodesk Maya

The models of the Stranded were designed to feel generally realistic with some stylization to match our character, and damaged like they had been through a crash leading to the jagged edges featured on many of the objects.

Lighting

Pixar Renderman

Daytime lighting proved to be a fun challenge. Each shot is tailored to it's respective focus while also keeping each shot feeling like the light source was the same.

tITLE cARDS

Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator

The title cards were a fun experiment drawing from 1940s Merrie Melodies, Walt Disney Animations, and Looney Tunes title card art.

Description

Stranded is a 20 second animated short modeled in Autodesk Maya and rendered using Renderman 25.

Story

Stranded follows a shipwrecked crow named Hardee as he waits impatiently for any form of help to arrive. Although he's been there a while, there might be help on the way sooner than he thinks. Unless of course, something were to go wrong...
